A few words about

What We Do

Our projects

We promote inclusivity, gender equity, and advocate for policies that positively influence the lives of Black women.

From participatory community-based action research on Black women’s health to breaking barriers hindering leadership positions, our projects are designed to create tangible, transformative impacts.

Education

Through innovative strategies and community-based participatory action research, WHEI strives to break barriers and reduce challenges that hinder Black women’s access to education. We advocate for inclusive learning environments that empower women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead. Education is not just a pathway; it’s a catalyst for building a future where every woman can thrive.

Health care

With dignity and respect as our guiding principles, we strive to serve and address the healthcare needs of all Black women. Through community-based participatory action research, WHEI engages in innovative strategies to tackle health inequities and promote positive health outcomes.

Awareness

WHEI engages in knowledge-building and enlightenment outreach activities aimed at empowering Black women to take charge of their health and well-being. Through community-based action research, we strive to raise awareness on issues ranging from economic disparities to sexual health, reducing vulnerabilities and empowering women to make informed choices.

Leadership

WHEI actively engages in initiatives aimed at breaking down challenges and promoting the active participation of Black women in leadership roles. Through community-based action research, we address issues that impede progress, advocating for transformative policies that positively impact work, health, and overall development.
